Russia establishes new international order

Russia's policy toward Ukraine and its actions in Syria and its reconciliation with Türkiye are reflected in President Vladimir Putin's commitment to establishing around Russia a new international order that significantly reduces US influence.

Analyzing Russia's foreign policy activities in these areas, the author emphasizes that "Putin intends to significantly reduce US influence."

"In Ukraine, Mr. Putin wants to undermine Washington's credibility as a guarantor of Eastern Europe. In Syria, he demonstrated a higher fighting capacity against jihadists than the coalition of more than 60 countries, led by Mr. Obama. In Turkey, he aims to create a division in Ankara's relations with NATO," commented the Italian political analyst.

According to the editor-in-chief of La Stampa, Russia creates a special system of relations with many countries with political models different from Western democracies - from Belarus to Türkiye, from Egypt to Iran and the former Soviet republics in Central Asia.

At the same time, Moscow is using various tools, including “energy investments, military presence and effective demonstrations of Russia's soft power, such as the popularity of RT television in the Arab world,” the article said.
