Russia continues to assert that it has no plans to attack NATO.
In a statement, the Russian Foreign Ministry asserted that Russia has no plans to attack NATO territory.

According to RIA Novosti, the Russian Foreign Ministry issued a statement on September 1st saying that Russia has no plans to attack NATO territory.
Previously, media outlets reported on Lithuania's commencement of construction of a military base. By the end of 2027, 4,000 German soldiers will be stationed there.
Regarding this matter, the German Foreign Ministry stated: “Germany describes the deployment of its troops in Lithuania as a ‘historic decision,’ adding that ‘the first soldiers arrived in April 2024, and the official commissioning of the German army brigade is expected in 2025.’”
According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, "they believe they would have to bear the 'first strike' from the Russian military in the event of an attack on the Baltic state." Furthermore, senior German military officials believe that Russia "could attack" NATO territory within the next 5-7 years.
The Russian Foreign Ministry stated: "For our part, we once again note that our country has no such plans." Along with this, the strengthening of NATO's military capabilities will force Moscow to take additional measures.
"The strengthening of the military capabilities of the North Atlantic Alliance, which is hostile towards us, only increases tensions and forces us to take appropriate countermeasures," the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
