Russia reveals it is about to hold nuclear talks with Iran.
(Baonghean.vn) - Russia will soon open a new round of negotiations with Iran regarding the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), TASS reported on May 30, citing Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov.

"Given the overall situation, with obstacles still remaining in our joint work, Iran and other members of the JCPOA should focus on our negotiations in Tehran. We have agreed that a new round of talks will be held soon," said the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister.
On May 8, 2018, the United States withdrew from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and imposed unilateral sanctions on Iran. A year later, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani announced that Tehran would temporarily suspend the implementation of the terms of the 2015 nuclear agreement with the P5+1 group of world powers (the US, Russia, France, the UK, China, and Germany), giving them six months to finalize the agreement.
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov had previously held talks with his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi. Both Moscow and Tehran hope that the situation surrounding the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) will soon stabilize.
