Russia believes China has a balanced stance on Ukraine.
The Russian Foreign Minister stated that China has a balanced stance on Ukraine because it is addressing the root causes of the conflict.
According to TASS on October 3, in an article published in Rossiyskaya Gazeta commemorating the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Russian Federation and China, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated that China has a balanced and consistent position on Ukraine, and that Beijing advocates eliminating the root causes of the conflict.
The Russian Foreign Minister stated: "We acknowledge the balanced and consistent approach of the Chinese side to the situation surrounding the crisis in Ukraine, focusing on the root causes of the conflict."
“These include NATO’s long-term eastward expansion, contrary to Russia’s fundamental security interests; the West’s creation of a military bridgehead against Russia in Ukraine; the bloody coup in Kyiv supported by Washington and Brussels in 2014; and the neo-Nazi regime’s policy of destroying everything related to the Russian language, including the language, culture, media, and the Orthodox Church,” Lavrov noted.
Furthermore, Foreign Minister Lavrov emphasized that Russia and China maintain close coordination on the most pressing regional issues, including the situation on the Korean Peninsula, in the South China Sea, in the Middle East, and in Africa.
Meanwhile, US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said that the "win plan" proposed by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky involved actions by third countries.
"The win-win plan that Ukraine has put forward is not just about what Ukraine can do, but also about the actions that countries around the world can take," spokesman Miller said.
However, a State Department spokesperson declined to provide any details about the plan. Miller noted that Ukraine would have to take action itself.
Earlier, The Wall Street Journal reported that President Zelensky, during his visit to the US, was unable to achieve his goals, and the "win plan" he proposed was not approved by the US administration.
On his Telegram channel, President Zelensky declared that Ukraine's "plan for victory" was fully prepared.
