The Mi-26's standout feature is its advanced electronics and navigation system, which allows it to perform a wide range of diverse missions in all weather conditions and at all times.
This helicopter can transport 20-22 tons of cargo and necessary technical equipment with a flight range of up to 800 km. The Mi-26 has four new-generation autopilots, improved control systems, and modern communication equipment. The Mi-26's cabin has enough space to carry 82 landing troops with full weaponry.
According to the plan, by the end of this year, the aforementioned air regiment will be equipped with both Mi-28N and Mi-35 helicopters.
In recent times, Russia has been continuously strengthening the armaments of its military units. Most recently, on October 8th, the Russian Ministry of Defense confirmed that it had deployed Iskander-M tactical ballistic missiles, capable of carrying nuclear warheads, to the Kaliningrad province, a Russian territory situated between Poland and Lithuania.

Russia is increasing the armament of its military units in various military districts to counter the growing military presence of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) near its borders.
Since 2014, NATO has deployed additional forces to Poland, the Baltic states, and other locations near the Russian border. According to NATO, these troop deployments are necessary to build confidence among Eastern European member states in the face of perceived threats from "Russian provocations."
