Sputnik, citing Russian authorities, reported that Ukrainian mechanized infantry, supported by tanks and artillery, launched a counterattack to regain previously lost positions. However, Kyiv's troops encountered heavy counterfire from Russian forces.
According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, the majority of Ukrainian troops were killed in the clash, while the rest had no choice but to retreat.
