Bolero music remains popular to this day. Therefore, the number of female singers pursuing this genre is increasing, creating a lively competition not only in vocal ability but also in beauty.

When discussing bolero music after 1975, one cannot overlook its representative, Nhu Quynh. The singer of "Vung La Me Bay" (The Area Where the Tamarind Leaves Fly) was affectionately nicknamed "Bolero Queen" by audiences and colleagues alike. Nhu Quynh's beauty is distinctly East Asian, gentle and demure. Composer Truc Ho, one of the people who helped Nhu Quynh's name rise to prominence overseas, once praised her, saying: "Nhu Quynh is very beautiful, reminiscent of the beauty of the late artist Thanh Nga."

Singer Quang Lê has also showered Như Quỳnh with praise for her beauty and voice. He even coined the nickname "Bolero Queen" for Như Quỳnh during the 2018 "Bolero Idol" game show, when Quang Lê and Như Quỳnh were both judges.

Director Hoang Nhat Nam, in the game show "Idol Singer Season 4" (THVL), when commenting on contestant Kim Yen, who impersonated Nhu Quynh, highly praised the beauty and charisma of the "queen of singing and dancing." He even repeatedly mentioned that if the "Duyen Phan" singer had entered a beauty pageant when she was young, she would have won: "When I watched clips of Nhu Quynh performing in her younger years, I think if she had entered a beauty pageant back then, she would have won. I've worked on many beauty contests, so I think that with her beauty at that time, she should have competed in the Television Singing Contest, not Miss Vietnam. If she had, she would have won."

Singer Minh Tuyet, who had a long association with Nhu Quynh at Thuy Nga, echoed director Pham Nhat Nam's praise: "Nhu's features are very distinct; her eyes, nose, and mouth are all clear, and her philtrum is well-defined." Even in her later years, Nhu Quynh still captivated audiences with her beautiful appearance in performances on the Thuy Nga stage such as "Voice of the Past," "The Road Named After You," etc.

Among the famous bolero "stars" in Vietnam, Le Quyen is the most prominent name. Unlike her predecessors such as Nhu Quynh and Phi Nhung, who remained faithful to the traditional ao dai dress, Le Quyen aims for a sophisticated and sensual image when telling sad love stories through her music. Although not possessing exceptional height, the singer of "Sầu tím thiệp hồng" (Purple Sorrow on a Pink Card) still scores points with her toned body and alluring curves. Le Quyen's elegant and glamorous appearance on stage is quite fitting for the nickname "Queen of Bolero" that her audience has bestowed upon her.

Jang Mi is a familiar name to young people who love bolero music. Her real name is Bui Thao Trang, born in 1996, and she rose to fame from a cover video of "Duyen Phan" on YouTube. Jang Mi's voice isn't particularly unique, but her style, genuine personality, and delicate, gentle beauty with a Korean flair have won over young people. She's been dubbed the "bolero goddess" by her young fans. However, Jang Mi has now shifted her focus to pop music.

"Bolero Queen" Nhu Quynh has a favorite protégé, the runner-up of "Bolero Idol" 2018, Yuuki Anh Bui. Despite her petite stature, the singer, born in 1998, possesses a captivating face with a pretty chin, large round eyes, and chubby cheeks… Yuuki Anh Bui has been nicknamed "Bolero doll" and has a considerable fan base.

Two young bolero singers who are currently captivating audiences are Phuong Anh and Phuong Y. They are sisters. Phuong Anh is the older sister, born in 1993, and has twice won the Mai Vang Award for the most popular singer of folk-inspired music. Besides her voice, Phuong Anh is memorable for her beautiful, melancholic face.

As for Phuong Y, Phuong Anh's younger sister, she is the winner of the 4th season of "Bolero Idol" in 2019. She is highly regarded for her beauty. "Beautiful like a beauty queen" is the compliment fans give to the singer born in 1996, Phuong Y. In addition, she is also competing for the title of "Bolero goddess" with To My.
