Through monitoring online groups and forums, the Traffic Police Department's Anti-Illegal Racing Team discovered that one group had arranged to "race wildly" in the early morning of the first day of Tet (Lunar New Year). Therefore, they deployed teams to closely monitor the area where the group was planning to gather.

Many vehicles have undergone structural changes.

At approximately 3:50 AM on the first day of Tet (Lunar New Year), the task force for preventing and combating illegal street racing discovered more than 100 "reckless drivers" operating modified high-powered vehicles, gathering to rev their engines, swerve, and cause public disorder in the Bac Hai street area, Ward 14, District 10.

A group of reckless motorcyclists gathered, stretching from the intersection of Bac Hai and Ly Thuong Kiet streets to the intersection of Bac Hai and Thanh Thai streets. The motorcyclists revved their engines loudly and performed stunts at high speeds, while groups of young people on the sidewalks revved their engines to cheer them on.

Most of these reckless drivers are very young.

The anti-illegal street racing task force quickly planned and implemented a plan to apprehend and handle the suspects. Upon spotting the traffic police teams, the group of "reckless drivers" split into smaller groups and attempted to flee. The task force seized 21 vehicles and arrested 33 "reckless drivers," bringing them to the District 10 Police headquarters for further processing.
