By noon on October 8th, most localities in Nghe An province had electricity restored after several days of disruption caused by Typhoon No. 10. People began cleaning up, repairing their homes, and resuming production.

Tan Phu commune was one of the areas that experienced prolonged power outages due to the storm, causing significant difficulties for residents' daily lives and the restoration of production. As of October 8th, according to Mr. Vi Van Quang, Chairman of the Commune People's Committee, 15 out of 30 hamlets had their power restored. The remaining hamlets are being urgently addressed by the power company due to broken power poles and damaged power lines.

Quỳ Châu commune was also one of the localities severely affected by the floods, with many areas experiencing deep flooding and prolonged power outages. Despite this, electricity has now been restored to all hamlets in the commune.

"Immediately after electricity was restored, people took advantage of the opportunity to clean up and repair their houses, restore production, and gradually stabilize their lives," said Mr. Nguyen Van Dung, Chairman of the People's Committee of Quy Chau commune.

Not only Tan Phu and Quy Chau, but according to surveys, most other localities in the province have had their electricity restored. In areas experiencing power outages, teams of workers are actively inspecting and ensuring safety before restoring power.

According to a report from Nghe An Power Company, as of 12 noon on October 8th, the entire power system in the province has been restored. The 110kV power grid is operating stably with 16 out of 16 substations and 41 out of 41 power lines energized.

At the medium voltage level, out of a total of 7,963 substations managed by Nghe An Power Company, 7,957 were affected and all have been restored; 76 of these substations are currently still being proactively shut off due to flooding and will be re-energized when safe conditions are ensured. In addition, 172 affected medium voltage lines have been restored, with only one branch line still unable to receive power due to ongoing flooding.

The entire province has 1,095,883 electricity customers, of which 1,095,877 were affected. To date, all of these customers have had their electricity restored, achieving a 100% rate (except for areas where power is being proactively cut off due to flooding or where safety conditions are not yet met for restoration).

Reportedly, after the storm subsided, the Northern Power Corporation mobilized 700 emergency response workers from various northern provinces to assist Nghe An, including highly skilled personnel fully equipped with vehicles, cranes, and specialized equipment. Along with more than 1,400 officials and workers from Nghe An Power Company, the entire power sector mobilized over 2,000 people to directly participate in khắc phục the damage.

Despite the heavy rain following the storm, disrupted transportation, and widespread flooding, power teams worked tirelessly day and night to erect poles, connect wires, replace equipment, and restore power in stages, ensuring absolute safety for the people and the system.

Given the complex weather conditions, Nghe An Power Company has instructed that power should only be restored when the area is dry and the equipment meets technical requirements. Areas still flooded will be monitored regularly and restored as soon as conditions permit. By 12 noon on October 8th, it can be confirmed that Nghe An has basically completed the repair of damage to the power grid after Typhoon No. 10.
