The Nghe An Health Department organized free medical examinations and treatment, and distributed gifts to residents of Thach Ngan commune, Con Cuong district.

On January 8th, the Nghe An Health Department organized a delegation to provide free medical examinations and treatment, and to give gifts to the people of Thach Ngan commune, Con Cuong district. Dr. Nguyen Van Thuong - Deputy Director of the Department of Health and Dr. Pham Quoc Duong - Chairman of the Health Sector Trade Union led the delegation.

The delegation included leaders and doctors from the following units: the Youth Union of the Nghe An Department of Health; Vinh Medical University; Southwest Regional General Hospital; Anh Son District Health Center; Con Cuong District Health Center; Military Hospital 4 and Saigon Eye Hospital - Vinh.

During the free medical examination and gift-giving program for the people of Thach Ngan commune, on behalf of the officials, employees, and workers of the Nghe An health sector, the leaders of the Department of Health and the Health Sector Trade Union presented 70 gifts to 70 poor households, each worth 500,000 VND.

Leaders from the Department of Health, the Health Sector Trade Union, and Saigon-Vinh Eye Hospital also donated 150 warm blankets to the people. The Youth Union of the Department of Health presented gifts to La Thi Doa (7 years old, a first-grade student), a student from a disadvantaged background who is being sponsored by the unit under the "Youth Union's Sponsored Child" model.

Over 300 residents of Thach Ngan commune received free medical examinations and medication from doctors from Vinh Medical University, Southwest Regional General Hospital, Anh Son District Health Center, Con Cuong District Health Center, Military Hospital 4, and Saigon Eye Hospital - Vinh.

According to information from the Nghe An Health Department: It is estimated that the total value of gifts and medicines in this free medical treatment and gift-giving program for the people of Thach Ngan commune is over 150 million VND.

According to Decision No. 2209/QD-UBND issued by the Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province on July 29, 2022, regarding the assignment of agencies and units to assist particularly disadvantaged communes in Nghe An province, the Department of Health was assigned the task of assisting Thach Ngan commune (Con Cuong district). Prior to organizing this program, the Nghe An Department of Health had previously organized several programs to donate gifts and provide medical examinations and treatment in the commune.

Previously, during the period from 2012 to 2022, the Department of Health was assigned by the Provincial People's Committee to assist Yen Tinh commune (Tuong Duong district). The Nghe An Department of Health carried out practical and effective support activities to help the poor and impoverished Yen Tinh commune reduce difficulties in life, access social services, improve knowledge and skills in labor and production, and improve their lives to escape poverty.
