National Border Guard Day 2026
On March 2nd, the 2026 National Border Guard Day was held at the Mon Son Commune Community Cultural Center, coinciding with a review of one year of implementing Prime Minister's Directive No. 01/CT-TTg on "Organizing the movement of all citizens to participate in protecting national territorial sovereignty and border security in the new situation".
The program was attended by representatives of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; and Major General Vu Quoc An - Deputy Political Commissar of the Vietnam Border Guard.
Representing Nghe An province were: Ms. Vo Thi Minh Sinh - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, and Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Mr. Nguyen Dinh Hung - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province; along with leaders of provincial departments and agencies; the Provincial Military Command; the Provincial Border Guard Command; leaders of Mon Son commune; and a large number of officials, soldiers, and people in the area.


After one year of implementing Directive 01/CT-TTg, the movement of all citizens participating in protecting national territorial sovereignty and border security in the commune has achieved many positive results.
Through this movement, the public has provided many valuable sources of information, contributing to effective prevention and combating of various types of crime. The political security situation, order, and social safety in the area are basically stable; the people's border defense posture is increasingly strengthened.

Speaking at the event, Comrade Vo Thi Minh Sinh - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, and Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation - acknowledged and praised the achievements of Mon Son commune; at the same time, she requested the locality to continue to promote the strength of national unity, linking socio-economic development with the task of protecting territorial sovereignty and national border security in the new situation.


On this occasion, the Provincial Border Guard Command and the People's Committee of Mon Son commune awarded many collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in implementing the movement; presented 30 gifts to policy beneficiary families and people with meritorious services; 30 gifts to village elders, heads of hamlets, and influential people; 27 scholarships to students in the "Helping Children Go to School - Children Adopted by Border Guard Posts" program; 20 gifts to poor households; and presented livelihood models to support disadvantaged households in developing production.
