Tomorrow, March 12th, the Rice Flower Festival will open in Anh Son.

The Rice Flower Festival, held annually from March 12th to 15th, is a unique event in Nghe An, attracting thousands of people from the region and tourists from all over to immerse themselves in the traditional cultural atmosphere.

Since ancient times, the kapok tree has adorned the countryside of Tam Dinh commune with its poetic and dreamy beauty amidst the lush green alluvial plains. Everyone who comes here wants to capture unforgettable moments under the ancient kapok trees bursting with red blossoms against the sky. The kapok tree – a flower linked to memories of the countryside, of summer afternoons spent playing under ancient trees waiting for mother's return, of childhood stories about the loving month of March, cherishing family and village affection. The kapok tree, a name that evokes a yearning for prosperity and well-being, is now elevated to a tourism festival, exploiting the potential advantages of this hospitable and hospitable land.

The Tam Son (now Tam Dinh) Rice Flower Festival, with its lively drumming, boat racing, sports, and vibrant costumes, is a rich cultural feature that captivates visitors. Come and immerse yourself in the joyful atmosphere amidst the ancient rice flower trees at their most beautiful, and enjoy the exciting folk games, songs, and dances. Following the opening ceremony, sports competitions will take place. Tug-of-war and volleyball matches will be held from March 13-14 in Hamlet 3, Tam Dinh Commune.

The boat racing festival will begin at 7:00 AM on March 15, 2025, at Khe Coi Dam, Hamlet 3, Tam Dinh Commune. In the evening of March 15, the Tam Dinh Rice Flower Festival will feature a lively dance performance. Visitors should also stop by the stalls showcasing local specialties from Anh Son. These delicious dishes will surely entice you to linger. Dishes like sticky rice cakes, Anh Son catfish, and a bowl of rich, flavorful Gay tea from Nghe An province leave a lasting impression on anyone who tries them.
