A spring day filled with friendship on the border.

On February 18th (the second day of the Lunar New Year), amidst the vibrant atmosphere of the Year of the Horse 2026, a delegation from the Management Board of Xop Tuong village, Nam On cluster of villages, Xay Cham Phon district, Bolikhamsai province (Laos) visited and extended New Year greetings to the officers and soldiers of Thanh Thuy Border Gate Border Guard Station, Nghe An Provincial Border Guard Command. This early spring diplomatic activity is of practical significance, further fostering the special solidarity between Vietnam and Laos along the border.

In the early days of the new year, the grounds of the Thanh Thuy Border Guard Post were filled with the colors of spring and a warm, friendly atmosphere as a delegation from the Xop Tuong Village Management Board visited to extend New Year greetings to all officers and soldiers of the unit. The meeting took place in a warm and sincere atmosphere, demonstrating the close and unwavering relationship between the Vietnamese border protection forces and the government and people of the border villages of neighboring Laos.

At the meeting, representatives from the Xop Tuong Village Management Board expressed their joy at being able to visit and extend New Year greetings to the unit, and also conveyed their deep gratitude to the officers and soldiers of Thanh Thuy Border Guard Station for their continuous care and support for the people in the border area.

Mr. Pua Lay, Head of Xop Tuong village, shared: “We always consider the Vietnamese border guards as family members. Thanks to the dedicated cooperation and assistance of the unit, the security and order in the border area are stable, the people can work and produce with peace of mind, and their lives are improving. We hope that this close bond will become even stronger.”

On behalf of the unit's officers and soldiers, Major Thai Van Hoang, Deputy Commander of Thanh Thuy Border Gate Border Guard Station, respectfully thanked the delegation for their sentiments and affirmed that the friendship and solidarity between the people and functional forces on both sides of the border is an important foundation for building a peaceful, stable, cooperative, and developing border region. The unit's officers and soldiers will continue to closely coordinate with the government, forces, and people of the neighboring country's villages in managing and protecting the border and maintaining security and order.

On this occasion, the Thanh Thuy Border Gate Border Guard Station presented New Year gifts to the Xop Tuong Village Management Board. These gifts, though simple, contained sincere sentiments and contributed to further strengthening the close relationship between the two sides.

The early spring visit was marked by warm handshakes, good wishes, and faith in a peaceful new year in the border region of the Fatherland, further enhancing the great tradition of friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between the Vietnamese and Lao peoples.
