Nghe An: Tourism service revenue increased by 15% in the first 10 months.

In the first 10 months of the year, the total number of tourists is estimated at 5,581 thousand, an increase of 4% compared to the same period in 2017. Total tourism revenue is estimated at 6,849 billion VND; of which revenue from tourism services is estimated at 3,425 billion VND, an increase of 15% compared to the same period in 2017.

In particular, based on monthly economic data, growth in the tourism sector is more consistent and sustainable.

Many hotels have invested in upgrading facilities and equipment, improving service quality to attract guests; travel activities have remained stable and are experiencing good growth. The number of tourists has increased compared to the same period last year, and the set targets have been met and exceeded; in particular, the growth is evenly distributed throughout the months, thus mitigating seasonality.

In 2018, Nghe An's tourism industry aimed to welcome over 4.2 million overnight visitors, a 10% increase compared to 2017, including 126,400 international visitors.

To achieve the set goals, the tourism sector has proposed many solutions, including effectively promoting the products of the JICA-supported project on diversifying livelihoods based on heritage tourism in agricultural and fishing villages to attract tourists. It also directs and guides the development of conference and seminar tourism, incentive tourism at the end of the year, and revitalizes tourism programs with forms such as group tours within the province, city tours, adventure tours, volunteer tourism, craft village tours, and outdoor excursions for students in coastal areas.
