Nghe An: 31 communes reduce nearly 100 billion VND in outstanding New Rural Development debts.
(Baonghean.vn) - Although Nghe An province has a high amount of outstanding debt for capital construction projects under the New Rural Development program, many communes in Nghe An have significantly reduced their debt and have been recommended to the Prime Minister for commendation.
According to a report from the Provincial New Rural Development Coordination Office, Thai Hoa town and many communes in Nghe An province have actively sought solutions to reduce outstanding debts related to the New Rural Development program, which is commendable.

Specifically: As of January 31, 2016, Thai Hoa town still owed 8.63 billion VND, but by January 31, 2017, this had been reduced by 7.94 billion VND, leaving only 690 million VND in debt. Among these, communes such as Nghia Tien, Dong Hieu, Nghia My, and Tay Hieu have completely paid off their outstanding New Rural Development (NRD) debts. Nghia Tien commune, which had a large debt of 2.16 billion VND, has now paid it all off.
In Yen Thanh district, Long Thanh commune owed 4.67 billion VND as of January 31, 2016, but has since repaid 4.3 billion VND, leaving only 359 million VND outstanding; Phuc Thanh commune owed 3.037 billion VND, now only owing 551 million VND.
For example, Nghia Dong commune (Tan Ky district) owed 4.99 billion VND but has repaid 4.32 billion VND, leaving 650 million VND outstanding; Thai Son commune (Do Luong district) owed 4.9 billion VND but now only owes 513 million VND; and Quynh Doi commune (Quynh Luu district) owed 4.11 billion VND but now only owes 401 million VND...

Nghe An province, comprising one town and 31 communes, had a debt of 107.8 billion VND in 2016, but this has been reduced by 98.6 billion VND to date.
In the nationwide movement to build new rural areas in 2016, 51 district-level units, 359 communes, and 27 individuals with outstanding achievements were recommended by the Coordinating Committee to the Prime Minister for commendation.
