Nghe An: 6 out of 11 commodity groups show an increase in price index.
(Baonghean)Since the beginning of the year, retail prices of essential goods, from fresh food, vegetables, and fruits to manufactured goods and building materials, in Nghe An province have remained relatively stable, meeting customer demand.
Market research conducted at several markets, shopping centers, and dealerships in the province shows that prices of goods are relatively stable. Local rice varieties have decreased by 150-200 VND/kg, specifically: Regular white rice retails at 10,500-10,800 VND/kg; local fragrant rice at 12,000-14,000 VND/kg; Meanwhile, Southern rice varieties are priced at 12,400-16,000 VND/kg, an increase of about 150 VND/kg (depending on the type). For food items, retail prices remained relatively stable, with some fresh produce items decreasing by about 10% compared to the previous month. Currently, it's the winter vegetable season, and favorable weather conditions have resulted in abundant supply. Therefore, retail prices for vegetables and fruits have decreased by 2,000-5,000 VND/kg, depending on the type. Specifically: sweet cabbage and Chinese cabbage are 2,000-3,000 VND/bundle, water spinach is 3,000-4,000 VND/bundle, cabbage is 10,000 VND/kg, and kohlrabi is 11,000 VND/kg...
For the consumer goods group, the prices of beer sold by the case/crate remain unchanged from last month: Hanoi canned beer is approximately 198,000 - 200,000 VND/case, Halida and Huda are 188,000 - 190,000 VND/case, and Heineken is 353,000 - 355,000 VND/case. Retail prices per bottle/can have decreased by about 1,000 VND/bottle; the retail price of sugar remains stable, fluctuating between 18,500 - 19,500 VND/kg.
Total retail sales of goods in October 2015 at current prices were estimated at VND 3,081,570 million, an increase of 14.94% compared to the same month last year, bringing the total retail sales of goods in the first 10 months of 2015 to an estimated VND 32,310,568 million, an increase of 11.51% compared to the same period last year.
The market forecast for the last months of the year indicates abundant supply, although some product groups such as construction materials, beverages, culture, entertainment, and tourism will see a decrease in purchasing power compared to previous months. Prices of essential consumer goods will continue to remain stable.
During the month, 6 out of 11 commodity groups saw price increases, but the increases were not significant. The group with the highest increase was clothing, hats, and footwear, which rose by 0.52% due to the onset of cooler weather and increased demand for this product group; the household equipment and appliances group increased by 0.45%; and for gas, due to the increase in imported gas prices, gas companies began applying new prices from the beginning of October 2015, increasing by approximately 19,000 VND per 12kg cylinder. Therefore, this pushed the index for the housing, electricity, water, fuel, and construction materials group up by 0.20%. In addition, 3 out of 11 commodity groups saw price index decreases. Notably, the group with the largest weight in this month's price index basket continued to decline by 0.11% (compared to a 0.13% decrease in September 2015). Specifically, food decreased by 0.16%, processed foods by 0.15%; beverages and tobacco decreased by 0.69%; and culture, entertainment, and tourism decreased by 0.34% due to reduced demand for these two groups. |
