Nghe An: Over 1,100 tons of pigs infected with disease destroyed in 6 months.
(Baonghean.vn) - In the past six months, Nghe An province has been forced to cull 24,085 pigs with a total weight of over 1,100 tons. Currently, there are still 3 districts and towns where the disease has not occurred.

According to data from the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine, African swine fever is developing complicatedly in the province, with an increasing number of communes experiencing recurrence and a rapid increase in the number of pigs that have to be culled.
As of September 14th, African swine fever had occurred in 5,479 households, 809 hamlets, 192 communes, and 18 districts, towns, and cities. A total of 24,085 pigs have been culled, with a total weight of 1,116,813 kg.
Of concern, among those 92 communes that had declared the epidemic over, 34 communes experienced a resurgence of the disease.
Currently, several districts have multiple communes experiencing outbreaks: Yen Thanh (32 communes), Dien Chau (17 communes), Do Luong (11 communes), Quynh Luu (6 communes), Vinh City (5 communes)...

Some key communes affected by the epidemic include: Dien Thai, Dien Nguyen, Dien Thang, Dien Dong, Dien Binh, Dien Cat, Dien Minh, Dien Quang, and Dien Xuan in Dien Chau district; Ly Thanh, Phu Thanh, Lien Thanh, Vinh Thanh, Phuc Thanh, Van Thanh, and Nhan Thanh in Yen Thanh district; Minh Son in Do Luong district; Hung Tay in Hung Nguyen district; and Quang Phong in Que Phong district.
The current situation is that many communes in key areas affected by the disease do not maintain checkpoints, and the control of slaughtering, trading of pork products, and transportation of pigs of unknown origin is not effective... Therefore, the disease can easily break out.
