(Baonghean.vn) - 81.48% of the population participates in health insurance. This information was announced by the Provincial Social Insurance Agency at the 2017 conference of officials and employees held on the afternoon of January 11th.
The conference reviewed the results of task implementation, summarized the emulation movement and people's inspection work in 2016, and outlined tasks for 2017.

In 2016, the Social Insurance Department of Nghe An province achieved many important accomplishments in implementing social security policies for the people. The entire sector met and exceeded the targets set by Vietnam Social Insurance, the Provincial People's Council, and the Provincial People's Committee; rapidly increased the coverage of social insurance and health insurance, especially the number of people participating in health insurance (with 81.48% of the population participating in health insurance, exceeding the target of 81% set by the Prime Minister); collected over 4,700 billion VND in social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance contributions; and the amount of outstanding social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance debts was controlled at a lower level compared to 2016.
