Nghe An: 97.46% of students pass graduation exam

This is the data just announced by Mr. Thai Huy Vinh, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training about the results of the National High School Exam for the 2015-2016 school year. Accordingly, this year, the graduation rate of Nghe An students reached 97.46%. This number is 1% higher than the results of the previous school year.

Statistics show that the number of students who fail to graduate is mainly concentrated in mountainous districts and Continuing Education Centers. The main reason for the high graduation rate is partly due to the decrease in students with failing grades.

Candidates taking the National High School Exam.

Last year, the whole province had 500 students with failing grades (1 point or less). This year, the number is only 70 students (about 15%). Of these, 67 students had failing grades in Math, 2 students had failing grades in Literature, and 1 student had failing grades in Foreign Language.

In the exam cluster chaired by Vinh University, the entire cluster had 6 candidates getting a score of 0 (including 4 in Math, 1 in History and 1 in Geography).

The National High School Exam is a “2 in 1” exam. It is used to obtain both graduation results and university admission scores. The graduation score will be calculated based on the minimum scores of 4 subjects with the average score of the entire 12th grade and priority and encouragement points (if any). The graduation certificates of candidates in 2016 will not be classified as Excellent, Fair, Average... but only recognition of graduation.

In case the graduation score of candidates is below 5, they will not have to retake the exam a second or third time but will have to wait to retake the exam next year.
