These figures were recently announced by Mr. Thai Huy Vinh, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training, regarding the results of the 2015-2016 National High School Graduation Examination. According to these figures, the graduation rate in Nghe An province this year reached 97.46%. This number is 1% higher than the previous year's results.

Statistics show that the majority of students failing the graduation exam are concentrated in mountainous districts and Continuing Education Centers. The main reason for the high graduation rate is partly due to a decrease in the number of students failing the exam.

Last year, the entire province had 500 students who failed (scoring 1 point or less). This year, that number has dropped to only 70 students (approximately 15%). Of these, 67 failed in Mathematics, 2 failed in Literature, and 1 failed in Foreign Language.

In the examination cluster chaired by Vinh University, the entire cluster had 6 candidates who scored 0 points (including 4 in Mathematics, 1 in History, and 1 in Geography).

The National High School Graduation Examination is a "2-in-1" exam. It serves both as a graduation exam and a university admissions exam. The graduation score will be calculated based on the scores of at least four subjects, the average score for the entire 12th grade year, and any bonus or incentive points (if applicable). Graduation certificates for 2016 candidates will not be categorized as Excellent, Good, Average, etc., but will simply acknowledge graduation.

Candidates whose graduation exam scores are below 5 will not be allowed to retake the exam a second or third time, but must wait until the following year to retake it.
