Nghe An: Suspect arrested for planting explosives in a house
(Baonghean.vn) - Luu Van Cuc is currently being prosecuted for acts such as intentional destruction of property, manufacturing explosives and threatening to kill.
On the morning of November 20, Colonel Thai Khac Thong - Head of Do Luong District Police (Nghe An), said that this unit has initiated a case and prosecuted Luu Van Cuc (35 years old, from Bac Giang) to clarify the acts of intentional destruction of property, threatening to kill and manufacturing explosives. Cuc was arrested by Do Luong Police on November 16, while hiding in his hometown.
Earlier, at around 4am on November 1, residents of Hamlet 4, Trang Son Commune, Do Luong District, were sleeping when they were startled by a loud explosion coming from the house of Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Th. (32 years old). The explosion caused severe damage to many of Ms. Th.'s family's properties and shattered the car door. Fortunately, Ms. Th.'s family members were sleeping inside at the time, so no one was injured.
Following the landlord's conflicts, after half a month of investigation, the police identified Luu Van Cuc as the culprit and proceeded to arrest him. At the police station, Cuc initially confessed that he was the one who caused the entire explosion. The motive for the case is believed to be that Cuc had a conflict with Ms. Th. over money, after which he made a homemade mine and brought it to Nghe An to detonate it to collect the debt.
The incident is still under investigation.
