(Baonghean.vn) - The Nghe An Provincial Police have just caught dozens of individuals and vehicles red-handed while illegally mining 800 cubic meters of various types of white stone in the Pha Chung mountain area, Quy Hop district.

In response to this situation, under the direction of the Director of the Nghe An Provincial Police, on July 13th, the Economic Police Department of the Provincial Police, in coordination with the Mobile Police Department, caught dozens of individuals and vehicles red-handed engaging in large-scale illegal mining of minerals (white stone) in the Pha Chung mountain area, Ken hamlet, Chau Loc commune, Quy Hop district, Nghe An province.

Authorities have seized 5 excavators, 1 truck, 4 rock cutters (double-wire cutters), 2 air compressors, and 2 vertical drilling machines used in illegal mining operations. Approximately 800 cubic meters of illegally mined minerals were confiscated at the scene.3 Various types of white stone, worth over 10 billion VND.

The investigating agency has detained Tran Van Bay (born in 1970), residing in Minh Xuan hamlet, Minh Hop commune, Quy Hop district - the owner of the aforementioned mineral mining site.
Tran Van Bay admitted to the illegal mining activity. During an inspection of the owner's warehouse, authorities discovered and confiscated nearly 100 cubic meters of mineral resources.3White stones of various types.
The case is currently being handled by the Nghe An Provincial Police in coordination with relevant authorities in accordance with the law.
