Nghe An province holds by-election for 2 additional members of the Provincial People's Committee.

On the morning of September 25th, at the 10th session (extraordinary session), the 17th term of the Nghe An Provincial People's Council dismissed two members of the Provincial People's Committee and simultaneously elected two additional members to the Provincial People's Committee.

Based on the proposal from the Provincial People's Committee, the Provincial People's Council has dismissed Mr. Le Duc Cuong and Mr. Dau Van Thanh from their positions as members of the Nghe An Provincial People's Committee for the 2016-2021 term.

Mr. Le Duc Cuong, former Chief of the Provincial People's Committee Office, is in charge of the Provincial People's Committee Office. Reason for dismissal: Transferred to the position of Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Internal Affairs Department according to Decision No. 3105-QD/TU dated August 30, 2019, of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee.

As for Mr. Dau Van Thanh - former Director of the Department of Internal Affairs, in charge of the Internal Affairs sector. Reason for dismissal: Retirement according to the State regulations as stipulated in Decision No. 2020/QD-UBND dated June 3, 2019 of the Provincial People's Committee.

Based on the nominations of candidates for the Provincial People's Committee, term 2016-2021, the Provincial People's Council elected and voted to approve the draft Resolution confirming the results of the by-election for the Provincial People's Committee, term 2016-2021, for Mr. Dang Thanh Tung and Mr. Le Dinh Ly.

Mr. Dang Thanh Tung (born August 28, 1968) is currently a member of the Provincial Party Committee and was appointed Chief of the Provincial People's Committee Office according to Decision No. 3538/QD-UBND dated August 30, 2019, of the Chairman of the Nghe An Provincial People's Committee, assigning him to be in charge of the Provincial People's Committee Office.

Mr. Le Dinh Ly (born January 20, 1967) was appointed Director of the Department of Internal Affairs according to Decision No. 3536/QD-UBND dated August 30, 2019, of the Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province, and was assigned to be in charge of the Internal Affairs sector.

The Nghe An Provincial People's Council held an extraordinary session to consider several important issues.
