Nghe An: Extremely rare case of premature baby girl weighing 800 grams, still in her amniotic sac.
(Baonghean.vn) - Doctors from the Obstetrics Department of Nghe An Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital said that the hospital has successfully delivered a premature baby in an extremely rare breech position in Vietnam.
At 4 PM on February 10th, Ms. Lo Thi Tuyet Sinh (27 years old, residing in Yen Hoa, Tuong Duong district, Nghe An province), 28 weeks pregnant, was admitted to the Obstetrics Department of Nghe An Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital in critical condition with abdominal pain, cervix dilated 2 cm, breech presentation, and threatened premature birth.

Monitoring until midnight on February 14th, Ms. Sinh experienced abdominal pain, her cervix fully dilated, and she delivered a sac of amniotic fluid. Doctors proceeded to rupture the amniotic membrane and found a baby girl weighing 800 grams.
Doctors at the Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital stated that the rate of breech premature births is extremely rare in Vietnam, occurring in only 1 in 80,000 babies. Since the birth, the mother's health has recovered and she has been discharged. The baby is currently in an incubator, breathing with the help of an NCPAP ventilator and receiving intravenous fluids in the Neonatal Department of the Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital in Nghe An for monitoring.

Tuyết Sinh's mother-in-law said: This is Sinh's seventh pregnancy; she gave birth prematurely six times before.
