(Baonghean.vn) - The child was brought to the emergency multi-specialty clinic by family members with blisters covering the entire skin of the chest, abdomen, both arms, and left thigh.

Baby Tran Duc Diep, born on January 29, 2018, residing in Hamlet 1, Nghia Trung, Nghia Hanh Commune (Tan Ky District), was brought to the multi-specialty clinic by his family in a condition of severe burns from boiling water, with the skin on his entire scalp, face, chest, abdomen, left arm, left thigh, and left leg peeling off.

Diep suffered burns all over her body and had to be transferred to a provincial hospital for treatment.

After initial first aid and bandaging, the child was transferred to the provincial hospital's emergency department. Doctors determined that the burns covered over 35% of the child's body, and the wounds were cleaned and disinfected.

Earlier, at around 4 PM on May 13th, while preparing milk, the mother was unaware that the child was following behind her. The child reached for the thermos of boiling water without closing the lid, causing the thermos to tip over, spilling all the boiling water directly onto the child.

The child is now out of critical condition and is being monitored and receiving special care in the Intensive Care Unit.

Doctors say that for children, all types of burns pose a very high risk of death due to their immature bodies and weak immune systems. Their skin is very susceptible to necrosis, leading to blood infections. Even first or second-degree burns from boiling water, if only about 25% of the body is burned, can be life-threatening. Furthermore, children's bodies continue to grow while the burned skin doesn't regenerate, easily leaving unsightly scars.

Doctors advise parents to be cautious when caring for young children, and to absolutely keep them away from hot water flasks, gas stoves, rice cookers, etc., to avoid unfortunate consequences.
