Nghe An: Voting to recognize 22 more communes as meeting new rural standards.
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of December 4th, the Organizing Committee of the National Target Program for Building New Rural Areas in the province evaluated, assessed, and voted to recognize an additional 22 communes as meeting the standards for new rural areas in 2018.
Twenty-two communes across ten districts were recognized as achieving New Rural Area standards in 2018 by the Appraisal Council, including: Nghi Phong, Nghi Dong (Nghi Loc), Dien Dong (Dien Chau); Khanh Thanh, Ly Thanh, Van Thanh, Tien Thanh, Lang Thanh, Duc Thanh, Dai Thanh (Yen Thanh); Tan Xuan, Ky Tan (Tan Ky), Trung Son, Lam Son, Dong Son, Luu Son (Do Luong); Tho Hop (Quy Hop); Chau Tien (Quy Chau); Nghia Duc (Nghia Dan); Quynh Yen (Quynh Luu), Tuong Son, Duc Son (Anh Son).

According to the consolidated report of the National Target Program Coordination Office for New Rural Development, in 2018, the leadership and direction of new rural development in the province in general and in the 22 communes in particular faced many difficulties. However, after signing commitments with the province, the communes have implemented many effective and innovative approaches, making strong breakthroughs and mobilizing resources to complete the remaining criteria; all 22 communes were assessed as meeting 19 out of 19 criteria. According to reports from the People's Committees of the communes, all 22 communes have no outstanding debts related to new rural development.

At the meeting, through a voting process, the members of the Provincial New Rural Development Assessment Council unanimously agreed to recognize 22 communes as having met the New Rural Development standards in 2018.
At the meeting, Mr. Dinh Viet Hong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, requested that the districts prioritize allocating resources and issuing mechanisms and policies to help communes gradually improve the quality of the criteria. For the communes, he urged them to continue perfecting and improving the quality of the achieved criteria in a comprehensive, sustainable, and synchronized manner, with the motto "building new rural areas has a starting point, not an end point."
Thus, along with these 22 communes, Nghe An now has 203 communes that have met the standards for New Rural Development.
