Shortly afterward, two men arrived and began banging and yanking at the station's main door. However, because the door was locked from the inside, they were unable to get in.
Unable to open the main door, these people went around to the side door near the kitchen and continued to yank and kick it open. Sensing danger, Mr. Thanh opened the main door and ran outside, only to see one person wielding a weapon chasing after him and loudly threatening to kill him.
After running about 100 meters and seeing no one chasing him, Mr. Thanh called the Director of Co Ba Forestry Station to report the incident. Upon receiving the news, the forestry station's officers arrived and found two men climbing onto a green Exciter 135 motorbike and speeding away.
Upon inspection, much of the station's property was found to have been vandalized. Mr. Thanh's motorbike had its front end smashed to pieces.
