Nghe An: People are straining to keep watch over forest fires during scorching hot days.

(Baonghean.vn) - In recent days, Nghe An has experienced intense heat, with temperatures reaching 41°C to 43°C in some areas, posing a very high risk of forest fires. Forest rangers are coordinating with local authorities to set up checkpoints to control access to the forest and monitor for fires in order to minimize the risk of forest fires.

From April 27th to May 2nd, 2024, Nghe An province issued an "Extremely Dangerous Forest Fire Warning." The Forest Protection Department directed its subordinate units, as well as forest owners and local authorities, to maintain 100% of their personnel on duty 24/7 during the hot weather period. It has also repaired 250.99 km of firebreaks (white and green), and prepared 272 handheld loudspeakers, 245 blowers, 115 brush cutters, 32 various types of pumps, 104 chainsaws, and 1,537 fire beaters... for forest fire prevention and control.
