Nghe An province approves investment plan for 2 projects with 3,541 housing units for workers.
According to information from the Management Board of the Southeast Economic Zone, Nghe An province has just approved the investment plan for two housing projects for workers at the VSIP Nghe An Industrial Park in Hung Nguyen.
The two projects together comprise 3,541 units, covering an area of 4.76 hectares; the total floor area is 195,170 m².2Providing accommodation/housing for 13,606 workers.
Specifically, the worker accommodation area of the Luxshare ICT Nghe An 1 Factory project in VSIP Nghe An Industrial Park covers an area of 0.33 hectares and has a floor area of 29,500 m².2253 apartments for 1,132 workers; the worker housing project, part of the Luxshare ICT Nghe An 2 factory project in VSIP Nghe An Industrial Park, covers an area of 4.43 hectares with a floor area of 165,670 m².2and 3,288 apartments for 12,474 workers/employees.
Representatives from the Planning Management Department of the Southeast Economic Zone Management Board stated that the two worker housing projects will commence construction in 2025 and are expected to be completed in 2026. Currently, the worker housing area of Luxshare ICT Nghe An 2 Factory has been approved by the Southeast Economic Zone Management Board on February 21, 2025. The worker housing area of Luxshare ICT Nghe An 1 Factory is awaiting planning approval before implementation.
Reportedly, these worker housing projects are part of Luxshare ICT Group's infrastructure investment project in Hung Nguyen district, with Luxshare Nghe An 1 having a total investment of VND 3,549.5 billion and Luxshare Nghe An 2 having a total investment of VND 8,652.5 billion.
Thus, to date, Nghe An has 5 worker housing areas in industrial parks, including the Luxshare - ICT Factory project dormitory (Nghe An), which has been completed and provides accommodation for approximately 8,220 workers, with nearly 2,000 currently residing there; the Everwin Precision Technology (Vietnam) Co., Ltd. dormitory, which meets the accommodation needs of approximately 1,200 workers; and the JuTeng electronic product and auto parts manufacturing plant dormitory project in Hoang Mai I Industrial Park, which is currently under construction and will provide accommodation for approximately 20,000 workers.
Previously, Nghe An province approved the investment plan for four social housing projects for workers in industrial parks within the Southeast Economic Zone, totaling approximately 8,200 units. Of these, nearly 7,300 units belong to two projects by Central Vietnam MK Solar Power Joint Stock Company and BMC International Trade Joint Stock Company in Nghi Long and Nghi Thuan communes (Nghi Loc district); 525 apartment units and 23 low-rise townhouses for workers in industrial parks by Kim Thi Real Estate Joint Stock Company in Nghi Xa commune (Nghi Loc district); and nearly 300 units belong to a project by Song Lam Cement Joint Stock Company in Nghi Tien commune (Nghi Loc district).
In line with the Government's plan to build 1 million social housing units by 2030, Nghe An province aims to construct approximately 28,500 social housing units for over 50,000 workers in the province.
