(Baonghean.vn) - On July 31, the People's Committee of Nghe An province issued an urgent dispatch to respond to the tropical depression and heavy rain in the East Sea.

On the morning of July 31, 2020, the low pressure area in the North East Sea strengthened into a tropical depression (TLD). It is forecasted that in the next 24 hours, the TLD is likely to strengthen into a storm and directly affect the mainland of our country. From August 1, the provinces from Thanh Hoa to Quang Tri will have heavy rain up to 400mm/period, in some places over 500mm/period.

For coastal districts and towns: Regularly update information, notify owners of vehicles, captains of ships and boats operating at sea of ​​the location, direction of movement and developments of low pressure areas to proactively avoid, escape or not move into dangerous areas. Dangerous areas in the East Sea in the next 24 hours (strong winds from level 6 or higher, gusts from level 8 or higher); East of longitude 107.0 degrees East; North of latitude 15.0 degrees North.

Districts in the plains and mountainous areas: Closely monitor forecasts and warnings of heavy rain, floods, flash floods and landslides; promptly provide information to villages and hamlets so that authorities and people know and proactively prevent; organize inspections and reviews of areas at risk of flash floods and landslides, households living along rivers and streams, and be ready to implement response plans to ensure the safety of people's lives and property.

Check the evacuation plan for people in areas at high risk of flash floods, landslides, riverbank and stream erosion, and low-lying areas that are frequently flooded to be ready for implementation.

Arrange forces and means to promptly handle situations to ensure smooth traffic; Deploy measures to ensure safety of dikes, dams and other basic construction works.

Organize inspections to ensure the safety of dykes, dams, especially critical dams, small hydroelectric reservoirs, and works under construction; arrange forces, materials, machinery, and equipment to be ready to respond and handle situations; Check the safety and operation of works in irrigation systems, be ready to respond promptly to flooding situations, and have plans to retain water to serve summer-autumn production.
