Nghe An: Industrial production index increases by nearly 17%.

(Baonghean.vn) - The Industrial Production Index (IIP) in Nghe An province in August 2017 increased by nearly 17% compared to the same period in 2016.

Specifically, the mining industry increased by 9.59%; the manufacturing industry increased by 7.75%; the electricity, gas, hot water, steam and air conditioning production and distribution industry increased by 43.71% year-on-year; and the water supply, wastewater management and treatment, and waste disposal industry increased by 10% year-on-year.

Several industrial products showed increases in August compared to the same period in 2016, such as: cement (up 36.19%), clinker (up 290%), bottled beer (up 12.75%), electricity production (up 19.15%), and commercial electricity (up 52.94%).

Overall, for the first eight months of 2017, the Industrial Production Index (IIP) is estimated to have increased by 10.62% compared to the same period last year; specifically: Mining industry increased by 10.41%; Manufacturing industry increased by 7.48%; Electricity, gas, hot water, steam and air conditioning production and distribution industry increased by 25% compared to the same period last year; Water supply, wastewater and waste management and treatment increased by 12.42% compared to the same period last year.

Some industrial products in the first eight months of the year showed significant increases compared to the same period last year, including: Hoa Sen steel sheets (213.6 thousand tons, up 370%), cement (1.6 million tons, up 12.82%), clinker (3.7 million tons, up 300%), alloy steel (38.7 thousand tons, up 23.05%), thick steel strips (79.9 thousand tons, up 340%), electricity production (1,562 million kWh, up 23.87%), commercial electricity (2,225 million kWh, up 32.92%),...

According to Mr. Hoang Van Tam, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade: In August, TH Group held a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the Nui Tien Pure Water and Fruit Juice Production Plant in Nghia Son commune, Nghia Dan district, with an investment of 1,177 billion VND on an area of ​​11.75 hectares. The plant is expected to launch its products at the end of 2019, including pure water, fruit juice (orange juice), aloe vera jam, herbal drinks, and rice milk.

In the coming period, the industry will continue to direct existing production facilities to maximize their production capacity, especially focusing on key products that account for a large proportion but are still underperforming, such as beer, electricity production, MDF wood, cement, milk, sugar, etc.

At the same time, we are urging the acceleration of the completion of key projects such as: Song Lam Cement Plant, Hoa Sen Steel Plant, factories in the Southeast Economic Zone, VINPEARL Cua Hoi hotel, entertainment and resort complex... in order to stabilize production and business, making an important contribution to increasing the scale and speed of the province's economic growth.
