(Baonghean.vn) - With the forecast of strong winds at sea from December 6-7, the Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense has issued Official Dispatch 230/VP-PCTT, directing proactive response measures.

According to the bulletin of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, from December 6-7, 2023, the Gulf of Tonkin, the northern region, the central East Sea and the western part of the southern East Sea, the sea area from Quang Ngai to Ca Mau will have winds of level 6, gusting to level 7-8; the southern region of the central East Sea, the area from Binh Thuan to Ca Mau and the Gulf of Thailand will have showers and thunderstorms, with the possibility of tornadoes and strong gusts of level 7-8 during thunderstorms.

To proactively respond to strong winds at sea, the Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense requests the Steering Committees for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense of coastal districts and towns and relevant agencies and units to implement the following contents:

Closely monitor information and developments of strong winds at sea; notify captains and owners of vehicles and vessels operating at sea to proactively prevent and have appropriate production plans, ensuring safety of people and property; maintain communication to promptly handle bad situations that may occur.

Prepare forces and means to deploy rescue work when there is a situation.

Strengthen information and communication work on weather developments, natural disasters and measures to respond to strong winds at sea, storms and tornadoes on mass media so that people can proactively prevent and minimize damage.

Organize the on-duty team seriously and regularly report to the Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control - Search and Rescue and Civil Defense.

Propose that the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control - Search and Rescue and Civil Defense of coastal districts and towns and interested agencies and units organize and implement.
