Nghe An province has 13 reservoirs at alarm levels.
Due to the impact of continuous heavy rain, 13 reservoirs in Nghe An province are currently at alarm level 1 (water levels in the reservoirs have exceeded the spillway).

According to a report by the Northern Irrigation Company Limited, As of now, the unit has 9 out of 23 reservoirs at alarm level 1, including Khe Than reservoir, Ba Hao reservoir in Quynh Luu district, Bau Da reservoir in Dien Chau district, Quan Hai reservoir, Xuan Nguyen reservoir, Don Hung reservoir, Ma To reservoir, Nha Tro reservoir in Yen Thanh district, and Bau Da reservoir in Do Luong district.
Quan Hai Reservoir is located in Phuc Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district.It has a capacity of nearly 5 million cubic meters.3Currently, the lake is full and overflowing the main spillway with a water level exceeding 0.9 meters.

A representative from the Northern Irrigation Company Limited stated: "At this time, we are constantly monitoring water levels, supervising the dam's condition, and preventing people from crossing the spillway; at the same time, we regularly update information on water levels and notify local authorities so that timely response measures can be taken."
Mr. Tran The Anh, Chairman of the People's Committee of Phuc Thanh commune, said: Given the situation of the reservoir being full, the commune has deployed forces to coordinate with the irrigation unit to be on duty at the Quan Hai reservoir, regularly informing the public through the loudspeaker system about the water level and the plan for evacuation to safe areas. In particular, the commune has prepared supplies and equipment for flood and storm prevention, and stockpiled food to supply the people.

Mr. Le Van Hong, Head of the Agriculture Department of Yen Thanh District, added: Currently, Yen Thanh District has 5 reservoirs under alert level 1. The district has directed the communes in the reservoir areas to develop specific response plans, deploying functional forces to be on duty 24/7 at the reservoirs, checking water levels and dam structures. Plans are also being prepared to evacuate residents to safe areas.
In addition, within the area managed by Nam Irrigation Company Limited, as of now, 4 out of 13 reservoirs are at alarm level 1, including Nghi Cong and Khe Quanh reservoirs in Nghi Loc district, and Thanh and Trang Den reservoirs in Nam Dan district.

Mr. Bui Van Hao, Chairman and Director of Nam Irrigation Company Limited, said: The unit has planned to deploy personnel to be on duty 24/7 to manage and operate the reservoir safely. They regularly monitor and inspect the structure to detect and promptly address any potential safety hazards.

According to information from the Irrigation Department, Nghe An province currently has 1,061 reservoirs of various sizes. During the recent rainfall, 51 reservoirs were full, with 13 reaching alarm level 1. To ensure reservoir safety, local authorities and irrigation units have deployed operating personnel to be on duty 24/7. For large reservoirs, they regularly monitor water levels, check rain gauges, and inspect automatic spillway opening systems to ensure safety.
