Nghe An province has over 3,000 newly established businesses.
In 2025, business activities in Nghe An province continued to show many positive changes, with a strong increase in the number of newly established businesses and those resuming operations, making an important contribution to economic growth and job creation.
According to aggregated data from Nghe An Statistics, from January 1, 2025 to December 19, 2025, the province saw 3,091 new businesses granted business registration certificates, a 43% increase compared to the same period last year. Total registered capital reached nearly 34,900 billion VND, an increase of over 55%. In addition, 818 businesses resumed operations, a 3.02% increase.
Alongside positive signs, the number of businesses temporarily ceasing operations remains high at 1,637, an increase of 3%; the number of businesses dissolved is 615, an increase of 75.71% compared to the same period.
The employment index in industrial enterprises is estimated to reach 114% by the end of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024. Notably, employment in foreign-invested enterprises increased sharply by 27.43%, while employment in the state-owned and non-state-owned enterprises decreased slightly.
A survey of manufacturing businesses shows that in the fourth quarter of 2025, more than 74% of businesses assessed their production and business situation as stable or better than the previous quarter.
However, forecasts for the first quarter of 2026 indicate that approximately 33% of businesses believe their production and business operations will face significant difficulties.
The major factors impacting current production and business activities are primarily the high competitiveness of domestic goods, low domestic market demand, along with difficulties in labor, technology, and access to capital, putting pressure on costs and production efficiency for businesses.
