Nghe An has a new Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.
Comrade Le Hong Vinh - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - was elected to the position of Chairman of the Nghe An Provincial People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term.
On the afternoon of January 3rd, in Vinh City, the 18th Provincial People's Council of Nghe An, term 2021-2026, held its 26th session (Special Session) to address personnel matters and other issues within its authority.
Attending the meeting were: Comrade Nguyen Duc Trung - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Comrade Le Hong Vinh - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Comrade Nguyen Van Thong - former Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Provincial People's Council delegate; and other members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and the Provincial Party Executive Committee…
Comrades Hoang Nghia Hieu - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Nguyen Nam Dinh - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; and Nguyen Nhu Khoi - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council presided over the session.
With 100% of the delegates present voting in favor by secret ballot, Le Hong Vinh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Standing Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province, was elected by the Provincial People's Council - the local state power body - to the position of Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province for the 2021-2026 term, replacing his predecessor, Nguyen Duc Trung.
Previously, the Provincial People's Council had carried out the procedure to dismiss Mr. Nguyen Duc Trung from his position as Chairman of the Nghe An Provincial People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term due to his reassignment to another position by the competent authority.
Specifically, on November 12, 2024, the Politburo issued Decision No. 1674-QĐNS/TW approving Comrade Nguyen Duc Trung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province - to hold the position of Secretary of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.
At its 26th session, the Nghe An Provincial People's Council, 18th term, passed resolutions confirming the results of the dismissal and election of the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term.
Thus, the leadership of the Nghe An Provincial People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term currently consists of Chairman Le Hong Vinh and three Vice-Chairmen: Bui Thanh An, Bui Dinh Long, and Nguyen Van De.
According to Resolution 137/2024/QH15, dated June 26, 2024, on supplementing the pilot program of some specific mechanisms and policies for the development of Nghe An province, effective from January 1, 2025, the National Assembly allows the People's Committee of Nghe An province to have no more than 5 Vice Chairmen.
