Nghe An has 13 more communes meeting model and advanced new rural standards.
13 more communes meeting advanced new rural standards are the results of the second round of voting and appraisal for recognition of new rural areas in the province in 2024.
The meeting took place on the morning of June 28 in Vinh City, chaired by Comrade Nguyen Van De - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Council for Appraisal and Recognition of New Rural Areas. Also attending were representatives of departments and branches that are members of the Appraisal Council and representatives of the People's Committees of relevant communes and districts.

At the meeting, on behalf of the Standing Committee of the Appraisal Council, the leader of the Provincial New Rural Area Coordination Office reported on the results of construction and meeting new rural standards of Hung Nguyen district for provincial members to add their opinions before voting and submitting to the Provincial People's Committee for approval.
Along with that, the report of the Appraisal Council shows that, among the 13 communes, there are 3 communes building model new rural areas, namely Quynh Luong (Quynh Luu), Thanh Linh (Thanh Chuong) and Nam Thanh (Nam Dan) which still have some conditions and criteria but have now been supplemented. Therefore, the above 3 communes are also included in the list to be submitted to the Council for voting. Similarly, the remaining 10 communes building advanced new rural areas also had some conditions and criteria that were not met at the beginning but have now been completed and included in the list to be submitted and voted.
Next, the meeting also heard the report on the results of the examination and recognition of the model new rural and advanced new rural standards for 13 communes included in the list of consideration this time. Specifically, they are Tay Hieu commune (Thai Hoa town); Nam Linh, Thuong Tan Loc, Nam Thanh (Nam Dan); Ngoc Son, Quynh Luong (Quynh Luu); Hung Chinh (Vinh city); Thuong Son, Thinh Son, Van Son, Xuan Son (Do Luong); Nghia Dong (Tan Ky) and Thanh Linh (Thanh Chuong).

At the meeting, the representative of the New Rural Coordination Office also reported and asked for opinions on the case of reviewing and re-recognizing Muong Noc commune (Que Phong) as meeting new rural standards to remove the white district from the new rural area. Previously, Que Son commune was recognized as meeting the standards but merged into Muong Noc, so further consideration is needed.

Based on discussion and additional comments, the Provincial New Rural Area Review and Appraisal Council voted and unanimously approved 20/21 votes for 13 communes, of which 3 communes met the model new rural standards and 10 communes were on the list to meet the advanced new rural standards in 2024.
Concluding the working session, Comrade Nguyen Van De - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Council for Review and Appraisal of New Rural Areas commended the efforts of the 13 communes recognized as model and advanced new rural areas this time; at the same time, requested the relevant districts and communes to complete the procedural documents to submit to the Provincial People's Committee for signing the recognition decision; continue to improve and maintain the quality of the achieved criteria.

Thus, by June 2024, in addition to 319/411 communes meeting new rural standards, with the addition of 10 communes meeting advanced new rural standards, Nghe An will have 93 communes meeting advanced new rural standards; 15 communes meeting model new rural standards; in the near future, if Hung Nguyen district is added to meet new rural standards, there will be 10/21 district-level units meeting new rural standards and 212 villages and hamlets meeting new rural standards.
