(Baonghean.vn) - The above figure was announced by the General Statistics Office in the 2022 Household Living Standards Survey.
Specifically, the average monthly per capita income in Nghe An is 3.629 million VND; of which, income from salaries and wages is 1.758 million VND; income from agriculture, forestry, and fisheries is 421 thousand VND; income from non-agricultural, forestry, and fisheries sources is 861 thousand VND; and other income sources are 589 thousand VND.

According to the General Statistics Office: The average monthly income per person in Vietnam in 2022 at current prices reached 4.67 million VND, an increase of 11.1 percentage points compared to 2021.
2022 marked a recovery in the economy and living standards of the population. After two consecutive years (2019 and 2020) of declining per capita income due to the negative impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, the average monthly income per person in 2022 returned to an upward trend, similar to the years before 2019.
Income increased steadily in both urban and rural areas. The average monthly income per person in urban areas in 2022 reached nearly 5.95 million VND (an increase of 10.4 percentage points compared to 2021), which is 1.54 times higher than the average income in rural areas, which was 3.86 million VND (an increase of 10.8 percentage points compared to 2021).
Among the 63 provinces and cities nationwide, Binh Duong had the highest average monthly income per capita in 2022, exceeding 8 million VND; the lowest was Ha Giang, with over 2 million VND.
Nghe An province, with an average monthly per capita income of over 3.6 million VND in 2022, ranked 42nd out of 63 provinces and cities, and 9th out of 14 provinces in the North Central and Central Coastal regions.
Average monthly income per capita is divided into 5 groups (from group 1 to group 5), where group 1 comprises the poorest 20% of households and group 5 comprises the richest 20% of the population.
According to the General Statistics Office, nationwide, the richest household group (comprising the wealthiest 20% of the population - group 5) has an average monthly income of 10.237 million VND per person, which is 7.6 times higher than the poorest household group (comprising the poorest 20% of the population), which is 1.352 million VND per person per month.
In Nghe An, the wealthiest household group (comprising the top 20% of the population - group 5) has an average monthly income of 7.835 million VND per person, which is 7.3 times higher than the poorest household group (comprising the bottom 20% of the population), whose average monthly income is 1.075 million VND per person.
The 2022 Household Living Standards Survey was conducted across all 63 provinces and centrally-administered cities, encompassing 46,995 households representing the entire country, urban and rural areas, and six geographical regions, provinces, and centrally-administered cities.
