Nghe An province announces list of 66 high-scoring students to be commended.
These are the students who achieved high scores in the 2024 High School Graduation Examination. This year, the number of students in Nghe An receiving awards is higher than in previous years, aiming to promptly encourage and motivate students who strive for excellence in their studies.
On August 19, 2024, the Provincial People's Committee issued Decision No. 2148/QD-UBND on rewarding students with outstanding achievements and high scores in the 2024 High School Graduation Examination. Accordingly, the Provincial People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 66 students who achieved high scores; each student received a reward of 18,720,000 VND. The total reward money for this occasion is over 1.2 billion VND.
The list of commended students includes 26 students who achieved the highest scores in the Natural Sciences subject combination of the high school graduation exam, with scores starting from 53.5 points. The highest score was achieved by Nguyen Duy Khoi Nguyen from Phan Boi Chau Specialized High School with 56.95 points. This is also the highest score in the Natural Sciences subject combination of the high school graduation exam nationwide.
The province also awarded 26 students with the highest scores in the Social Sciences subject combination in the high school graduation exam, specifically those with scores of 55.8 points or higher. The student with the highest score in the Social Sciences subject combination in the province is Nguyen Thi Hoai Linh from Do Luong 3 High School. This is also the highest score achieved by any student in Nghe An province in this year's exam.

In addition to the 52 high-scoring students, the province also awarded 14 students from ethnic minority groups who achieved the second-highest scores in the Natural Sciences and Social Sciences subject combinations.
In this year's list of high-scoring candidates, Phan Boi Chau Specialized High School had the highest number of awarded students with 19. Following closely behind were Ethnic Boarding High School No. 2 with 8 students, Do Luong 3 High School with 6 students, Dien Chau 3 High School with 3 students, and the Provincial Ethnic Boarding High School with 3 students. Additionally, several schools from the districts each had 1 to 2 students.

2024 marks the 15th year that the People's Committee of Nghe An province has organized the Ceremony to honor students who have won international and national awards and achieved high scores in the High School Graduation Examination. The aim is to celebrate and promote exemplary students in Nghe An who excel academically, overcome difficulties, and further expand and promote the emulation movement for excellent teaching throughout the province.
This year, the awards ceremony is scheduled to be held on the evening of August 21st at the Provincial Labor Culture House and will be broadcast live on Nghe An Radio and Television.
