Nghe An province announces amnesty for 334 prisoners.
On June 1st, detention facilities in Nghe An province held a ceremony to announce the 2026 amnesty decision of the President of Vietnam for 334 eligible inmates. This is a recognition of the progressive rehabilitation and training of those serving sentences, and also demonstrates the lenient and humane policy of the Party and State, creating conditions for their early reintegration into the community.
InPrison No. 3 (Department of Police for the Management of Prisons, Compulsory Education Facilities, and Juvenile Detention Centers - Ministry of Public Security)The ceremony to announce the President's decision on amnesty in 2026 was held for 68 eligible prisoners.


After Lieutenant Colonel Dao Anh Son, Deputy Superintendent of Prison No. 3, announced the President's amnesty decision, Major General Nguyen Manh Hung and Colonel Cao Ngoc Dien, Superintendent of Prison No. 3, presented the amnesty decisions, identity cards, and free phone SIM cards to the pardoned inmates.

Speaking at the ceremony, Major General Nguyen Manh Hung congratulated the inmates who received amnesty; and expressed his hope that those returning to their localities would continue to strive to overcome their feelings of shame, abide by the law, work diligently, quickly stabilize their lives, and become useful citizens to society. For those currently serving sentences, he encouraged them to continue studying, working, and reforming themselves well so that they could soon benefit from the lenient policies of the Party and the State.

Immediately after the announcement ceremony, Prison No. 3 completed the necessary procedures, providing financial support and new uniforms to those granted amnesty before they returned to their localities.
On the same day,Nghe An Provincial Police Detention CenterThey also held a ceremony to announce the President's decision on amnesty for 38 eligible prisoners in 2026.

Attending the ceremony were Colonel Phan Xuan Vinh - Deputy Head of the Criminal Enforcement Agency of the Provincial Police; representatives from the Provincial People's Procuracy, the Provincial People's Court, relevant professional departments, and officers and soldiers of the Provincial Police Detention Center.
At the ceremony, Colonel Chu Quang Thanh, Superintendent of the Provincial Police Detention Center, announced the President's amnesty decision for 38 inmates. Congratulating those granted amnesty, he acknowledged the inmates' efforts in rehabilitation and training during their sentences; and expressed his hope that they would continue to abide by the Party's guidelines, the State's policies and laws, actively engage in production, and stabilize their lives after returning to their localities.
For inmates who are not eligible for amnesty in this round, the leaders of the Provincial Police Detention Center encouraged them to continue strictly adhering to the detention facility's regulations, actively studying, working, and reforming themselves so that they can be considered for leniency policies in the near future.

Also today (June 1st), Prison No. 6 (Department of Police for Prison Management, Compulsory Education Facilities, and Juvenile Detention Centers - Ministry of Public Security) held a ceremony to announce the President's 2026 amnesty decision for 228 inmates who met the eligibility criteria.
The 2026 amnesty decision not only recognizes the rehabilitation efforts of prisoners but also reflects the lenient and humane policy of the Party and the State, creating motivation for those granted amnesty to rebuild their lives and reintegrate into the community as soon as possible.
