Nghe An announces the Decision on the transfer and appointment of the Chief Justice of the Provincial People's Court.
On the afternoon of May 18th, the People's Court of Nghe An province held a ceremony to announce the decision to transfer and appoint Ms. Phan Thi Nguyet Thu as the Chief Justice of the People's Court of Nghe An province.

Attending the announcement ceremony were: Mr. Nguyen Bien Thuy - Deputy Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court; Mr. Nguyen Duy Lam - Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Secretary of the Ha Tinh Provincial Party Committee.
Representing Nghe An province were Comrade Hoang Nghia Hieu - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee: Duong Dinh Chinh - Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Nguyen Van De - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, along with leaders of several provincial departments and agencies.

The Supreme People's Court has announced Decision No. 552, dated May 11, 2026, regarding the transfer and appointment of Ms. Phan Thi Nguyet Thu, Chief Justice of the People's Court of Ha Tinh province, to the position of Chief Justice of the People's Court of Nghe An province for a term of 5 years, effective from May 15, 2026.

The decision to transfer and appoint the Chief Justice of the People's Court of Nghe An province was made on the basis of the Party, State, and Supreme People's Court's policy on reorganizing the organizational structure and appointing Chief Justices of provincial and city courts who are not from the local area, in order to enhance objectivity, transparency, and efficiency in judicial activities.

Earlier, in Ha Tinh province, the Supreme People's Court also issued a decision appointing Comrade Tran Ngoc Son, Chief Justice of the People's Court of Nghe An province, to the position of Chief Justice of the People's Court of Ha Tinh province.

In his remarks assigning the new position, Deputy Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court Nguyen Bien Thuy acknowledged the achievements of Ms. Phan Thi Nguyet Thu in the past period; and at the same time, requested the new Chief Justice of the Nghe An Provincial People's Court, in her new position, to continue to promote internal unity, quickly familiarize herself with and grasp the practical situation of Nghe An so that her leadership and guidance are practical and effective.

The Deputy Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court emphasized that Nghe An is facing many opportunities for strong socio-economic development, attracting many large projects, leading to an increase in civil, commercial, and investment relations, as well as administrative disputes and complaints. Therefore, the new Chief Justice needs to proactively conduct in-depth research into the local socio-economic characteristics, effectively advise the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Council, the Provincial People's Committee, and relevant agencies in the field of justice, contributing to ensuring a stable legal environment to serve development.

The Deputy Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court also requested that Comrade Phan Thi Nguyet Thu maintain her political integrity and be prepared for new tasks; continue to build unity and solidarity within the entire two-level People's Court system of Nghe An province, working together towards the goal of improving the quality of trials, maintaining political stability, social order and safety, and contributing to the development of the local economy.

In addition to his professional duties, he was asked to continue to play his role as a National Assembly representative, applying his experience in parliamentary activities to protect the legitimate rights and interests of the people.
Comrade Nguyen Bien Thuy expressed his hope that local Party committees, authorities, and judicial agencies would continue to cooperate and support the new Chief Justice in successfully fulfilling his assigned duties.

In her acceptance speech, the new Chief Justice of the Nghe An Provincial People's Court, Phan Thi Nguyet Thu, expressed her honor at being entrusted with this new responsibility. She affirmed that she and the collective of the two-level People's Courts of Nghe An will continue to innovate judicial activities, promote digital transformation, and build a clean and strong court system to serve the people and the development of the province.
