Nghe An: Announcing the outstanding science and technology events of 2016.

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of December 26th in Vinh City, the Department of Science and Technology organized a conference to announce the outstanding science and technology events of Nghe An in 2016 and to hand over the results of science and technology research to localities and relevant sectors.

In 2016, the Department of Science and Technology advised the Party Committee of Nghe An province to issue a Resolution on the development of science and technology in Nghe An province for the period 2016-2020, with a vision to 2025. The Resolution assessed the current state of science and technology activities in the province over the past years, while also identifying new goals, perspectives, tasks, and solutions for the development of science and technology in Nghe An in the new period.

Ms. Ngo Thi Mai Vi from Vinh University presented a research paper on the application of biological methods in controlling black spot disease in peanuts.

Policies encouraging and supporting the application of scientific and technological advancements have been effectively implemented and have yielded strong results in production and daily life. Some notable achievements include the use of scientific products in agricultural production such as compost makers, biogreens, biological bedding, the application of drip irrigation techniques for oranges and sugarcane, and low-cost cage fish farming, etc.

Comrade Tran Quoc Thanh, Director of the Nghe An Department of Science and Technology, presented science and technology projects to departments, agencies, and localities.

Some scientific research results have been applied and yielded high efficiency in agricultural production, notably the large-scale propagation of Thanh Chuong black olive; the selection and commercial production of cold-tolerant rice varieties (Japonica) suitable for the climate conditions of Que Phong district; the model of raising hybrid tilapia from the Israeli strain and the Duong Nghiep tilapia; research on the production of instant tea and capsules from golden flower tea, etc.

Preserving and developing valuable genetic resources to serve the socio-economic development of the province; researching, applying, and developing advanced techniques in the field of healthcare and medical treatment; applying and developing information technology to build e-government, achieving many new advances; establishing and launching the Technical Center for Standards, Measurement, and Quality under the Nghe An Provincial Department of Measurement and Quality; successfully implementing measures for managing standards, measurement, and quality in the petroleum business, which were implemented nationwide by the Ministry of Finance,...
