The dragon yam weighs 73 kg. Mr. Bac said that dragon yam (also called fairy hand yam because the tuber has many finger-like branches) is a native variety that is very easy to grow, high-yielding, and resistant to pests and diseases. The selling price is about 20,000 VND/kg. Typically, the yam is planted in early spring and harvested in late winter.
After peeling, the sweet potato has a white and purple color, a distinctive and delicious flavor, and can be boiled alone or together with other potatoes and root vegetables. It's also used in sweet potato desserts and sticky rice dishes, adding an attractive color. Although easy to grow and high-yielding, it typically only produces 10-15 kg per crop.
