Nghe An strongly fights against gambling
Recently, authorities in Nghe An have focused on implementing drastic solutions to strongly combat gambling.
Eliminate many lines, arrest many subjects
Nowadays, gambling forms are increasingly diverse, organized in sophisticated forms and methods, attracting a large number of participants..
A typical example is the large-scale mobile gambling den in the form of dice shaking in the forest led by Nguyen Nhuan Danh (born 1986), residing in Nghia Dong commune, Tan Ky district.

To have money to spend, Danh colluded with two people living in the same Nghia Dong commune, Vo Duy Bay (born 1970) and Vo Duy Hai (born 1996), to set up a gambling den and organize gambling.
It is worth mentioning that many members of Danh's gambling ring have many criminal records, including those with up to 5 previous convictions for gambling, such as Nguyen Hai Sang (born 1976), residing in Nghi Xuan district, Ha Tinh province; Dinh Quoc Khanh (born 1979), residing in Quy Hop district.
After setting up a closed gambling network with "effective associates", Nguyen Nhuan Danh organized for the subjects to participate in gambling according to specific rules set by Danh so that the "gamblers" who wanted to participate had to comply.
Accordingly, when "gamblers" want to play, they must park their vehicles at a centralized location and hand over their phones. Danh also directed his juniors to take the "gamblers" around many places to avoid detection by the police.

For first-time participants, Danh requires a guarantee from an old gambler. In addition, this group of people often changes phone numbers, means of transportation, gambling locations, and operates mainly in rugged mountainous areas, far from residential areas, each gambling session is only held for 1.5 to 2 hours. Although it has only been in operation for a short time, due to its secretive and sophisticated organization, Danh's gambling den attracts dozens of gamblers from Quy Hop, Dien Chau, Con Cuong districts, and Vinh City to participate.
After a period of monitoring, on May 13, 2025, in the rubber forest area of Duc Thinh hamlet, Tan Phu commune, Tan Ky district, Nghe An police forces arrested dozens of subjects gambling in the form of dice shaking organized by Nguyen Xuan Danh.

Previously, in late February and early March 2025, the Provincial Police Department's Criminal Police Department presided over and coordinated with relevant units to eradicate two large-scale gambling rings.
The first gambling ring involved 15 people, gambling in the form of dice shaking, led and directly organized by Vo The Anh (born in 1981), Le Van Luan (born in 1980) and Ngo Quoc Hung (born in 1981), all residing in Vinh city. To deal with the police, this group organized gambling in a very sophisticated and professional manner. In addition to arranging guards and picking up and dropping off gamblers, they also frequently changed gambling locations to solid houses with "tiger cages" and surveillance camera systems.
The second gambling ring involved 7 people gambling in the form of “3 card” card games led by Le Thi Hang (born in 1978), residing in Vinh Tan ward, Vinh city. Hang organized the gambling on the 2nd floor of her house, arranged for people to keep watch and collect “cash” from the gamblers.
Dismantling the two gambling rings, the authorities arrested 22 subjects (including 18 men and 04 women, aged from 24 to 49) residing in Vinh city and Thach Ha and Can Loc districts (Ha Tinh province). The total evidence confiscated and temporarily detained were 02 cars, over 700 million VND in cash; 01 set of dishes, 04 chess pieces, 01 deck of playing cards; 22 mobile phones and many related objects and documents.
According to the authorities, in addition to traditional gambling activities (dice shaking, playing three-card poker, lottery betting, etc.), the authorities have discovered and eliminated many groups and networks using high technology for gambling.
Typically, in April 2025, Nghe An police forces simultaneously arrested 12 subjects for "Money Laundering" and "Gambling".
The discovered and seized exhibits included 3 computers, 15 mobile phones, 1 car and many related documents and objects. Previously, through the investigation, the force discovered that in Nghe An province there was a group of people who regularly participated in gambling on the website “xxx88”.

Nghe An police informed: This is an online gambling website with a domain name registered abroad, operated by a group of foreigners.
In Vietnam, the subjects increased advertising activities of this website as an online electronic game platform, diverse betting, easy registration and quick liquidity, thus attracting many people to participate in online gambling.
The activities of this group are linked between domestic and foreign subjects, divided into small groups, with organized, sophisticated, dangerous activities, using many high-tech applications and techniques.

The leader of the above "Money Laundering" and "Gambling" ring in Vietnam is Dau Trong Giap (born 1992), residing in Minh Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district (Nghe An).
In addition to Giap, Nghe An police also arrested 11 other subjects including 8 men and 3 women aged 22-45, residing in Yen Thanh, Dien Chau, Nghia Dan, and Quynh Luu districts, who directly participated in the money laundering and gambling ring on the website "xxx88"...

In the first 6 months of 2025, authorities in Nghe An detected 127 gambling cases, of which 71 cases were prosecuted and criminally handled, accounting for 55.9%.
