(Baonghean.vn) - The Emulation and Commendation Council of Nghe An province unanimously agreed to propose awarding the title of "Hero of the People's Armed Forces" to 9 collectives.

This council analyzed and discussed the achievements of 9 collectives, including: My Thanh commune, Long Thanh commune, Minh Thanh commune, and Vien Thanh commune.of Yen Thanh district; Quynh Nghia commune, Son Hai commune of Quynh Luu district; Company 202, Company 168, Company 333 of the Youth Volunteer Force of Nghe An province.

The proposed communes are areas with a rich revolutionary tradition; the local people and armed forces have fought exemplary battles in defending their assigned areas and targets, contributing significantly in terms of manpower and resources to the resistance wars against France and the United States.
During the period of reform, these localities continued to uphold their traditions, achieving many results in socio-economic development and strengthening national defense and security.
For the Youth Volunteer Corps of Nghe An province, during the war against the US, they excellently fulfilled their combat support tasks: transporting and treating wounded soldiers; loading and unloading goods, medicine, and food; defusing bombs to open roads and ensure traffic; and building irrigation systems to help the people…

After analysis and discussion, the Provincial Emulation and Commendation Council voted unanimously to submit a proposal to the Provincial Party Standing Committee requesting the Emulation and Commendation Council of Military Region 4 and the State Emulation and Commendation Council to consider and decide on awarding the title of "Hero of the People's Armed Forces" to the nine collectives mentioned above.
Also at the conference, the Provincial Emulation and Commendation Council unanimously voted to recommend that the Prime Minister award a Certificate of Merit to Mr. Nguyen Van Huu, a member of the Farmers' Association of Hung Yen Bac commune, Hung Nguyen district, for his outstanding achievements in production and business in the locality.
