MICE is currently a type of tourism that brings in huge revenue for the tourism industry in many countries around the world, notably in Southeast Asia, Singapore, followed by Thailand. In Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Da Nang and recently Nha Trang (Khanh Hoa), Phu Quoc (Kien Giang) are considered MICE tourism centers.

Although it is behind the above mentioned tourist centers, in recent years Nghe An has been chosen by many units and businesses to organize conferences, seminars and product exhibitions. The most recent is the Conference “Professor Ta Quang Buu with his homeland and country” with a scale of more than 100 delegates, including many scientists from research institutes in the capital Hanoi.

It is expected that in early December, the National Assembly's Committee for Culture and Education will select the location for the workshop "Vietnam Tourism - Recovery and Development in the New Context" to be held in Vinh City (Nghe An). The workshop program, in addition to organizing discussions to find solutions for tourism recovery and development, will also include visiting and experiencing some relics - scenic spots and tourist attractions in Nghe An.

The workshop is expected to attract about 250 delegates, including leaders of the National Assembly, leaders of the Government; Chairman of the Committee for Culture and Education; Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism; representatives of the Standing Committee of the Nationalities Council and Committees of the National Assembly, members of the Committee for Culture and Education; representatives of Party and Government agencies, central ministries and branches, some localities and representatives of some international organizations, tourism experts and tourism businesses...

This proves that Nghe An has always been trusted by units and businesses across the country in choosing a place to organize events and MICE tourism. Because Nghe An has long been considered a safe destination, one of the localities that has done a good job in preventing and fighting the Covid-19 epidemic. Currently, the epidemic has been basically controlled, tourism activities have been initially restored when moving to the "new normal" state.

In addition, some districts such as Dien Chau and Con Cuong are also qualified to organize MICE tourism with a scale and number of not too large groups. Life has moved to a “new normal” state, tourism experts say that at this time, the demand for organizing conferences, seminars, meetings, awards, exhibitions, and events will be very high for the purpose of interacting, exchanging work, connecting trade and summarizing the program. At the same time, it is an opportunity for businesses to encourage spirit, motivate employees to contribute to revive production and business by organizing tours, tourism and awards.

Currently, Nghe An is researching and forecasting scenarios for the MICE market in the coming time, corresponding to the level of pandemic control to prepare all conditions to serve tourists at the best level.
