Nghe An: Suspension of circulation of counterfeit imported medicines.
(Baonghean.vn) - The Nghe An Department of Health has issued a document requesting that businesses and users of medicines not sell or use Nexium 20mg and Nexium 40mg that falsely claim to be imported by Armephaco Joint Stock Company, located at 118 Vu Xuan Thieu Street, Phuc Loi Ward, Long Bien District, Hanoi.
Accordingly, tThis drug has several characteristics that differ from the drug already licensed for circulation by the Ministry of Health, as follows:
Smuggled Nexium tablets are labeled as Nexium 20mg and Nexium 40mg, while Nexium tablets that have been granted marketing authorization are labeled as Nexium mups 20mg and Nexium mups 40mg.

The registration number/import license number for the smuggled drug is recorded as: PARALLEL IMPORTED DRUG. GPNK 16738/QLD-KD dated 19/12/2011 or 2765/QLD-KD dated 27/02/2013; or another license number falsely claiming to be the importing company: ARMEPHACO Joint Stock Company; while the genuine Nexium mups 20mg drug has registration number VN-19783-16 and the genuine Nexium mups 40mg drug has registration number VN-19782-16, manufactured by Phytopharma Joint Stock Company.
The language on the packaging and instruction leaflets of smuggled medicine is Turkish, while the language on the packaging and instruction leaflets of licensed medicine is Vietnamese.
The Nghe An Department of Health requests that all businesses and users of medicines conduct inspections at their facilities. If they discover smuggled Nexium 20mg and Nexium 40mg tablets with the aforementioned characteristics, they are requested to cease buying, selling, and using them, seal them, and report the findings to the Drug Administration Division of the Nghe An Department of Health.
