Nghe An: Suspect who assaulted forest ranger, causing hospitalization, has surrendered.
(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of July 26th, Colonel Mai Hong Ha, Head of the Quy Chau District Police, announced that the suspect who illegally transported forest products and assaulted a forest ranger in Chau Hoan commune has surrendered.
According to Colonel Mai Hong Ha, on the morning of July 25th, after calling people to assault the working group of the Dien Lam Forest Protection Station - part of the Pu Huong Nature Reserve - who were on duty in Chau Hoan commune, Quy Chau district, causing serious injuries to forest ranger Nguyen Chi Viet, Nguyen Quang Tuan, residing in Tong 2 village, Chau Phong commune, surrendered to the police.

Currently, the Quy Chau District Police are holding Tuan in custody and summoning related individuals for investigation in accordance with the law.
At approximately 5:00 AM on the same day, forest rangers Dao Cong Thang, Nguyen Thanh Son, Nguyen Chi Viet, and Tran Duc Long – rangers from the Dien Lam Forest Protection Station, part of the Pu Huong Nature Reserve – pursued a black pickup truck in Nat Duoi village, Chau Hoan commune, Quy Chau district, when they were met with fierce resistance from the suspect, named Tuan, residing in Tong 2 village, Chau Phong commune. During the arrest, Tuan used a fence post to hit Comrade Tran Duc Long in the leg and struck forest ranger Nguyen Chi Viet in the head, causing Comrade Viet to faint on the spot. While the task force was focused on getting Comrade Viet to the hospital, Tuan and his accomplices unloaded the timber, got into their vehicle, and fled. |
