Nghe An welcomes student who won Silver Medal at the International Mathematical Olympiad.
(Baonghean.vn) - The owner of the Silver Medal was a student from Tan Ky district and also the first 11th-grade student from Nghe An to participate in the International Mathematical Olympiad.
On the afternoon of July 23rd, the Provincial People's Committee, the Department of Education and Training, and Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted held a ceremony to welcome Vu Duc Vinh, a student from class 11A1, who won a Silver Medal at the 2019 International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO).

The welcoming ceremony was held right at Vinh International Airport. Comrades Dinh Viet Hong – Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Thai Van Thanh - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Department of Education and Training, along with teachers and family members, personally went to the airport to present flowers and congratulate the group of teachers and students returning from the United Kingdom.
Vu Duc Vinh is the first 11th-grade student from Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted to participate in the International Mathematical Olympiad and also the only 11th-grade student in the Vietnamese team this year.

With his international silver medal, Vinh made a significant contribution to the overall achievement of the Vietnamese delegation, placing them 7th out of 110 teams, a 10-place improvement compared to the 2018 IMO. Vinh's score ranked 65th in the world and 3rd for the Vietnamese delegation.
Speaking at the welcoming ceremony, Comrade Dinh Viet Hong expressed his delight at the outstanding achievement that student Vu Duc Vinh had attained in this year's exam. He also acknowledged the determination and efforts of the teachers and students of Phan Boi Chau Specialized High School.

The results achieved also demonstrate the fine tradition of studiousness of the people of Nghe An province and are a testament to the training achievements of the provincial education sector and Phan Boi Chau Specialized High School.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Dinh Viet Hong stated that Vu Duc Vinh's success today is just the beginning and expressed confidence that in the coming years, Vu Duc Vinh will strive even harder to achieve more high academic results and bring more achievements to the country.

At the ceremony, Director of the Department of Education and Training Thai Van Thanh also expressed his gratitude to the family of Vu Duc Vinh and the teachers in the training team for their efforts and perseverance in overcoming many difficulties and obstacles to nurture an outstanding student.
Based on the achievements already made, the comrade also hopes that in the future, Phan Boi Chau Specialized High School will uphold its traditions and train more and more excellent students, students with high achievements in regional and international Olympic competitions.
Furthermore, it is hoped that more and more talented students will choose the teaching profession as their career path, and that there will be more teachers who know how to inspire and encourage their students' passion, and who are dedicated and committed to the noble cause of educating future generations.
