Nghe An welcomes students who won Silver Medals at the International Math Olympiad
(Baonghean.vn) - The owner of the Silver Medal was a student of Tan Ky district and was also the first 11th grade student of Nghe An to participate in the International Mathematical Olympiad.
On the afternoon of July 23, the Provincial People's Committee, the Department of Education and Training and Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted held a ceremony to welcome Vu Duc Vinh - a student of class 11A1 who won the Silver Medal at the 2019 International Mathematical Olympiad IMO.

The welcoming ceremony was held at Vinh International Airport. Comrades: Dinh Viet Hong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Thai Van Thanh - Member of the Party Executive Committee, Director of the Department of Education and Training, along with teachers and their families, went directly to the airport to present flowers and congratulate the teachers and students returning from the UK.
Vu Duc Vinh is the first 11th grade student of Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted to participate in the International Mathematical Olympiad and is also the only 11th grade student in the Vietnamese team this year.

With the international Silver Medal, Vinh has contributed significantly to the overall achievement of the Vietnamese delegation, bringing the Vietnamese delegation to 7th place out of 110, 10 places higher than the 2018 IMO. Vinh's score ranked 65th in the world and 3rd in the Vietnamese delegation.
Speaking at the welcoming ceremony, comrade Dinh Viet Hong expressed his joy at the outstanding achievements that student Vu Duc Vinh had achieved in this year's exam. In addition, he also acknowledged the determination and efforts of the teachers and students of Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted.

The achieved results also demonstrate the good tradition of studiousness of Nghe An people and are the training achievements of the provincial Education sector and Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Dinh Viet Hong said that today's success of student Vu Duc Vinh is the first step and believes that in the coming years, Vu Duc Vinh will make more efforts to achieve many high achievements in studying and bring more high achievements to the country.

At the ceremony, Director of the Department of Education and Training Thai Van Thanh also expressed his gratitude to Vu Duc Vinh's family and the teachers in the training team for their efforts and efforts to overcome many difficulties and obstacles to train an excellent student.
