Nghe An province received over 3,600 tons of rice as assistance for the 2016 Lunar New Year.

The Prime Minister has directed the Ministry of Finance to release (free of charge) 3,886.545 tons of rice from the national reserve to Tuyen Quang and Nghe An provinces to support the people during the 2016 Lunar New Year.

Specifically, Tuyen Quang province received 269,235 tons of rice; Nghe An province received 3,617.31 tons of rice.

The Prime Minister requests the People's Committees of Tuyen Quang and Nghe An provinces to receive and use the allocated rice to provide timely and appropriate support to eligible recipients in accordance with regulations.

Based on the regulations in Decree No. 136/2013/ND-CP on policies and levels of rice support for famine relief during the Lunar New Year; in order to promptly support people at risk of food shortages during the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Monkey, at the request of the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs and the Ministry of Finance, Tuyen Quang province has 17,947 people and Nghe An province has 241,154 people who will receive rice support, at a rate of 15kg/person/month, for a period of 1 month.
