Nghe An: Nearly 200 villages and hamlets still lack access to the national power grid.
(Baonghean.vn) - Currently, there are 185 villages in Nghe An province that do not have access to the national power grid, mainly concentrated in the districts of Ky Son, Que Phong, Tuong Duong, and Quy Chau.
The project to invest in the construction of rural electrification facilities from the national power grid in Nghe An province is divided into two phases; phase 1, from 2014 to 2016, prioritizes electricity supply to urgent areas, aiming to bring electricity to all commune centers in Nghe An province.
Phase 2, from 2016 to 2020, aimed to bring electricity to 233 villages, benefiting 18,214 households.

The total investment for the project is 782 billion VND, of which 85% comes from the annual state budget and 15% is counterpart funding from Vietnam Electricity Group.
According to a report from Nghe An Power Company, the project has completed phase 1 to date, bringing electricity to 100% of commune centers in the province and supplying electricity to 48 villages in 3 districts (Tuong Duong, Ky Son, and Quy Chau), serving 3,798 households.
However, the entire province still has 185 villages without access to the national power grid, mainly concentrated in the districts of Ky Son (89 villages), Tuong Duong (24 villages), Que Phong (24 villages), Quy Chau (29 villages), Con Cuong (5 villages), Thanh Chuong (4 villages), and Anh Son (5 villages). |

According to Nghe An Power Company, phase 2 of the project is currently underway with the goal of bringing the national power grid to all villages in the province, but is facing difficulties in funding. The project still lacks approximately 575 billion VND, which has not been allocated in the 2016-2020 period.
It is expected that during the period 2018-2020, the central government will allocate approximately 30 billion VND to Nghe An province to continue implementing the project, focusing on prioritizing villages located near the hydropower reservoir and those with medium-voltage power lines running through them but currently lacking electricity.
