The project will be implemented in 30 communes across 3 districts: Anh Son, Quy Hop, and Tan Ky, with a total capital of over 8.1 billion VND. Of this, the East-West Center will contribute over 7.2 billion VND, with the remainder being the province's matching funds. The support level will range from 800,000 VND to 1.5 million VND per household (depending on the beneficiary).

Speaking at the project, Comrade Dinh Viet Hong affirmed that the WOBA project is particularly meaningful in the current period. Accordingly, it not only provides timely assistance to vulnerable groups facing many difficulties but also makes a significant contribution to Nghe An's efforts to accelerate the criteria for building new rural areas, especially those related to the environment, clean water, and hygienic toilets.

To ensure the project's effective implementation, the comrade also requested that relevant departments, agencies, and localities expedite its deployment, ensuring that it meets the objectives and targets. During implementation, regular monitoring is necessary, and increased public awareness campaigns should be conducted to ensure a proper understanding of the program's goals.

In addition, localities need to incorporate project objectives into their programs and meetings to guide implementation; assign project targets to the People's Committees of communes within the project area and consider this as an annual criterion for evaluating the results of the new rural development program.

At the conference, the People's Committee of Nghe An province and the East-West Center also signed an agreement on implementation. Accordingly, Nghe An will commit to ensuring counterpart funding and implementing the project in accordance with its purpose, objectives, strategy, methods, and activities. Simultaneously, the Provincial Women's Union and the Center for Rural Water Supply and Sanitation (Department of Agriculture and Rural Development) will be responsible for coordinating and implementing the project.
